Local Pref
The NELLICUS backbone makes use of the following local pref:

| 500 | Peering Routes - All peering regardless of mechanism — bilateral IX sessions, route-server sessions, and private IX VLANs |
| 400 | Upstream / Transit Provider Routes |
| 50 | Route of Last Resort |
By default, all received customer routes are assigned a local preference of 700 in the NELLLICUS Backbone. Customers can manipulate this preference using our BGP action communities:
